Kindergarten—Laura Nelson—Sra. Laura

: Sra Laura has been at LILA from the beginning, teaching 1st grade for the first three years and then teaching Basic Skills and Kindergarten after having her baby. She gained student-teaching experience at Adams Spanish Immersion Elementary School in St. Paul and also held long-term substitute teaching positions there for a 1st- and 2nd-grade classroom. She also worked at Park Spanish Immersion in St. Louis Park as a Special Education Paraprofessional, helping students with language and behavior disabilities. Sra. Laura earned a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and has completed a Master of Education degree from the University of Wisconsin. She studied Spanish in the academic setting in the United States and at La Universidad Nacional in Costa Rica, and also traveled extensively throughout Central America.
